XIV International Ornithological Conference of North Eurasia
First Information Letter
Dear colleagues!
We are glad to invite you to take part in the XIV International Ornithological Conference of North Eurasia in Almaty (Kazakhstan), hosted by Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
During the Conference it is supposed to listen and discuss presentations on a main range of topical questions of fundamental and practical ornithology, to summarize the results and outline perspectives for the ornithological surveys within the North Eurasian region, as well as issues of preparation and publishing of faunistic reviews in the region’s countries, popularization of ornithology and further development of its practical aspects, including commercial, medical, aviational ornithology and birdwatching.

Conference dates: 18–24 August 2015 г. 18-22 August [Tuesday–Saturday] are reserved for the Conference scientific program and Menzbier Ornithological Society Meeting, and 23–24 August [Sunday–Monday] – for field excursions.
General Conference Topics: Birds systematics, Paleoornithology and Evolution of birds, Avian ecology and behavior, Dynamics of bird faunas and population, Demography and population biology of birds, Morphology, Physiology, Migrations, Birds’ Conservation and Sustainable Use, Medical Ornithology, Synanthropic birds, Ornithofauna of Kazakhstan and Central Asia, promotion of ornithology and ecological education, ornithological tourism (birdwatching) in North Eurasia.
Proposals for plenary sessions are welcomed, as well as themes for symposia and round-table discussions. It is planned to publish the abstracts by the beginning of the Conference, and proceedings – after the Conference.
Conference languages: Russian and English.
Important dates:
Up to the 1st of June 2014 proposals on plenary sessions, symposia and round-table discussions should be sent to the Conference Secretariat (subject of the e-mail to be «Proposals for the Conference»).
Up to the 1st of December 2014 – registration forms and abstracts (indicating the nature of the presentation – plenary or section report, poster) should be submitted. The subject of the e-mail to be «Abstracts», mentioning name and surname of the contributing author (if many – all the contributors).

Registration fee. 25 euro, to be paid on arrival.
Abstracts should be submitted only by e-mail. Each participant can submit one abstract, where he is the only author, and not more than 2 abstracts as a co-author. Program committee reserves the right to edit and refuse the contributed materials.
